Once again, the International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC) has received the prestigious Leading Star Award at the annual StudyTravel Star Awards in London, UK. First held in 2006, the red carpet event gathers thousands of votes from professionals within the industry to celebrate service excellence leaders in international education.
This is the second year in a row that ILAC has won The Leading Star Award, a new category that was created last year to honour organizations like ILAC that have won the ST Star English Language School Award five years in a row and named ST Lifetime Super Stars.
“Like everyone in this room, we are in the business of changing people’s lives and creating dreams,” said ILAC’s CEO Jonathan Kolber as he was joined by his team on stage. “I’d like to tell you a story about some of the students that studied English with us, studied at our college and found careers at ILAC in Canada. We have Fernanda here from Brazil, Santi from Spain and Yusuf from Turkey. They are all successful in their lives and I am very proud of all the work they do. This is an example of what our industry does.”
Now in its 14th year, the ST Star Awards features 25 categories, including study travel agencies, language providers, vocational colleges, secondary schools and service providers. The glamourous event is held every year on the second evening of ST Alphe UK at the Grosvenor House a the AJW Marriott Hotel on Park Lane, with over 1,200 major industry representatives in attendance.
This has been an exciting year for ILAC, which last month announced its strategic partnership with ONCAP, Canada’s oldest and most reputable investment firm. Other recent achievements include a new university pathways building attached to the University of Toronto’s affiliated residence and a new program in Health Care Administration at ILAC International College.
In addition to the Leading Star Award, ILAC also received the ST Star Vocational College Award, which recognizes the top colleges in the world as voted by international agents.
