Staying #ILACSafe: Ontario issues stay-at-home order and state of emergency

The Ontario government has issued a stay-at-home order for 28 days.

The new state of emergency requires everyone to remain at home, with the exception of essential purposes. That includes thing like going to the grocery store, accessing health-care services, exercising or essential work.

Unless an outing is considered essential, Ontario residents are being ordered to stay home at all times. Anyone caught violating the stay-at-home order could face a fine and prosecution. Outdoor social gatherings are restricted to a limit of five people.

What will be open?

  • stores that primarily sell food
  • pharmacies
  • gas stations
  • convenience stores
  • restaurants for takeout or delivery
