No quarantine required for fully vaccinated international students starting July 6

As of July 6, international students who are fully vaccinated, have a valid study permit and test negative for COVID will not have to quarantine or stay in a government-authorized hotel when they arrive in Canada.

To be considered fully vaccinated, students must show proof that they have had two shots of one of the following approved vaccines:

    • Pfizer
    • Moderna
    • AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD
    • Janssen (Johnson & Johnson – only one shot)

All international travellers will still need to do a COVID test 72 hours before coming to Canada, do a second test upon arrival and have a quarantine plan ready in case they test positive.

There are no changes to Canada’s quarantine process for travellers who are not fully vaccinated.
