Meet the winners of the ILAC International Essay Contest!

Students from around the world were asked to write an essay on the subject of "How International Education Can Contribute to World Peace."  The winners will be awarded $50,000 in scholarships to study at a Canadian university or college of their choice.

Foundation Values

The ILAC Foundation is committed to creating a legacy of peace through international education and is based on the principles of equality, diversity and respect.

The ILAC Foundation is a non-profit division of the International Language Academy of Canada that promotes friendship and understanding between people of all faiths and backgrounds. Established in 2009, The ILAC Foundation is dedicated to promoting peace through education in both Canada and abroad.

The ILAC Foundation supports local and international initiatives that provide educational opportunities for students from around the world.

Current Initiatives

ILAC Pathway Scholarships

The ILAC Foundation offers individual scholarships of $500 CAD to international students who complete the highest level of the ILAC Pathway Program and are accepted into a Canadian university or college.

The Daughters for Life Foundation Scholarships

ILAC has donated $200,000 CAD to the Daughters for Life Foundation, a Canadian-Palestinian charity that provides educational and leadership opportunities for girls and women in the Middle East.

The scholarships include:

  • 10 one-year ILAC university pathway program scholarships for female students from the Middle East
  • Free accommodation in Canada for 3 female students, up to $10,000 each
  • 20 one-year scholarships distributed over the next five years to female students accepted into programs across the Middle East

Students will be selected on the basis of their academic achievement and financial need. The criteria and selection process will be handled directly by The Daughters for Life Foundation. For more information, visit: www.daughtersforlife.com.
